Angry Birds Trilogy Hits Million Sales On Consoles

Angry Birds is laughing out loud for the biggest achievement it has ever achieved in the game industry when its trilogy hits one million sales for Nintendo3DS, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. It is a milestone for the game publisher Rovio Entertainment who had previously partnered with Activision Publishing in releasing the new version. This is one of the best games that are expected to dominate Activision Publishing within the year.

Jennifer Mirabelli, vice president for sales and marketing at Activision publishing company, noted that the addictive formula of Angry Birds has been successfully converted onto the big screen. She also added that the response of clients who have used the current innovation is overwhelming.

The Story Behind the Success

Current reviews describe the high figure of sales that Angry Birds has achieved is a very noteworthy accomplishment for a trilogy. This success story can be related to the previous record the game set after it was downloaded for 1 billion times on Google Play and Apple iOS.

Game executive Petri Jarvilehto considers the achievement as an indication that Angry Birds has done well using different platforms during the previous year. However, what currently intrigues and excites him the most is the outcome of the upcoming release of the new version.

The trilogy of Angry Birds was perfectly modified in high definition with more enhanced manipulations using the Kinect for Xbox 360 and PlayStation Move. It has been noted that fans can play the game with interactive backgrounds and unique animation. There are over 700 levels that can possibly last for up to 150 hours. Furthermore, Angry Birds Trilogy: Anger Management was released recently with DLC pack. This release provides more content with no less than 100 all-time favorite puzzles that fans enjoy such as Birdday Party and Wreck the Halls.

An Angry Birds Movie?

The screen that Angry Birds occupies is getting bigger as they target to kill pigs on a movie that will be financed by Rovio. Its publisher has already considered producer John Cohen to produce the animated feature of the game.

Rovio also hired David Maisel who was the executive producer of the Iron Man film as well as a chairman of Marvel Studios who will serve as the project executive producer. This movie is planned to be released in 2016.

Meanwhile, the company is also planning for a massive release of Angry Birds theme parks. The initial parks were opened in 2012 in U.K. and Finland and another one is scheduled to be opened in Shanghai this year. There is also a plan to put parks in Russia next year and the expansion in European countries will follow.

Will the Birds Hit Pigs or Gold?

No one today can predict how the new platform and scheduled projects for Angry Birds will be responded by fans and players. The only certain thing for the people behind the success of the game is that a possible higher level of achievement can be attained in the coming months and years.
