Wimbledon Men's Semi Finals Preview

The 2011 Wimbledon Men's Semi-Finals are set for first serve at 2pm GMT (11pm AU EST, 9am US EST) on Friday the 1st of July. Each of the participants are assured of a £275,000 ($418,000 AUD) payday or greater.

Three of the top four seeds remain including Rafael Nadal (1) who's fresh off winning the 2011 Men's Singles championship at the French Open, Novak Djokovic (2) who took home the 2011 Australian Open Men‘s Singles championship and local favourite Andy Murray (4) who’s seeking to become the first Brit to win the tournament in 75 years.

Rounding out the remaining four is the 12th seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga who pulled off arguably the biggest Wimbledon upset in recent memory defeating 3rd seeded Roger Federer 3-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4. An upset made all the more astonishing when one considers that Federer's lifetime record was 178-0 after winning the first two sets.

Andy Murray verse Rafael Nadal Preview  (see website below for details)

First seed and defending Wimbledon champion Rafael Nadal, who appeared to sustain a foot injury in his previous match, declared himself fit and ready to roll by overcoming American 10th seed Mardy Fish 6-3, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 to book himself a place in the semi-finals.

The Spaniard Nadal is a very comfortable 11-4 lifetime against Andy Murray, including a semifinal win at the 2011 French Open and a victory against the Brit in last year's Wimbledon semi-finals.

The fourth seeded Andy Murray dismantled Feliciano Lopez in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 and 6-4 on Centre Court before members of the Royal Family. An impressive performance that gives Murray another crack at Nadal.

Murray will be appearing in his third straight Wimbledon semi-final, seeking to make his first trip into the championship round. The Scotland native is a perfect 9-0 on grass this season and titled at the Queen's Club Championships earlier in the month. A tournament considered a good lead-up to the Wimbledon.
