Microsoft have designed a new piece of user-friendly mobile phone equipment called 'Windows Phone 7 series' which is easy to use and provides a clear but complex operating system which is said to be 'finger friendly'. Microsoft have tried to get away from the 'tiny PC image'.

To compete with the likes of Apple with their hugely popular iPhone. Microsoft have based the Phone 7 on operating system from Windows CE kernel - A safe bet which has been serving computer users for years. This means that some PC mobile apps may work on it too.

CNet.com managed to get hold of a prototype Windows Phone 7, their overall opinion seemed good! Although they said they are far from providing a 'full review'.

They said the design is rather much like a VodaFone 360 on the Samsung H1. They then went on to say that they liked the crisp elegant face.

The Windows Phone 7 is expected to be around by the end of 2010
