TheBeauteeShop.com, an online t-shirt store, is preparing to relaunch in 2010. The store will offer new t-shirt designs, a new blog and a larger inventory. The company was founded by Bora Mpinja, a recent graduate of Howard University

in Washington, DC. Mpinja earned her Master’s degree in mass communication and media studies as well as a certificate in entrepreneurship.

The store was created as a way for people to celebrate their ethnicity by wearing tee shirts that promote beauty in all races, colors and nationalities. “I don’t like the way certain ethnic groups are portrayed in the media, especially Africans,” says Mpinja, who was raised in the United States by Congolese parents. “I want people to wear these shirts and make a statement about who they really are and where they come from. We need to control our own images.”

The online store offers a selection of American Apparel tee shirts with designs such as 'Kiss Me I'm Mexican,' 'African King,' and 'Made in Brazil.' Sizes range from small to XXL and prices start at just $20. To place an order please visit www.thebeauteeshop.com.
