Starwood’s new “One Hotelâ€, a concept by Barry Stern, the creator of Starwood’s W Hotel chain, located in Society Hill’s Headhouse Square has obtained their 200 million financing approval this week through Rockwick Capital, based in Wilmington, Delaware. The One Hotel will be the most luxurious line of Starwood, and will be the first 7 star hotel in Philadelphia.Â
The only other 7 star hotel in existence, is the Burj Al Arab in Dubai. Incidentally, there is a 10 star hotel currently being built in Dubai, known as the Hydropolis.
This Hotel and Condominium project, known as Stamper Square, is scheduled to be built on the vacant Headhouse Square property formerly owned by actor Will Smith. This 15 story building will be home to 2 million dollar luxury condos. The hotel is predicted to be an enormous success due to the forthcoming Sugar House Casino which will be completed in June 2010. According to the developer, Marc F. Stein, of Bridgeman Development, this ultra-luxury hotel and condominium has attracted calls by major celebrities for the pre-purchase of condos, and will be the playground for the Uber Rich.
