IVF treatment methods are currently in evolution mode, though it would appear that governments of major developed nations like the US and UK, just aren't sure where to draw the line when it comes to development and research into IVF treatments, leaving the door wide open to IVF research abroad. Within Europe itself, Spain and Bulgaria lead the way into IVF research, but if we take a look at what is currently happening in Israel and Nigeria, the positioning of that line will have to be reconsidered or face losing out on a huge chunk of what is currently a multi billion dollar industry.
In Israel. a technique has been developed to boost the implantation rate of healthy embryos at a IVF fertility clinic at Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Medical Center. who have raised the success rate of implanting healthy embryos into the womb, from around 25% to an amazing 75% success rate, by using this new technique called 24 Sure, which examines all 46 chromosomes (23 pairs) in an eight celled embryo, over a 26 hour period, allowing the lab to check whether the embryo has the correct number of chromosomes, with the optimum chance of being implanted successfully.

Professor Gheona Altarescu, a Romanian-born expert at SZMC’s medical genetics institutes molecular laboratory was able to confirm that the technique was so successful that she expected other IVF clinics in Israeli to follow suit and that it would benefit not only the older women that have a lesser chance of success with IVF, but also for younger women that have had several miscarriages. The final outcome will be known shortly as the 20 healthy pregnant women using the technique, will be due to give bith in April and may of this year.
Fertility expert, Dr. Michael Ogunkoya working in Nigeria, reveals why IVF treatments abroad are beginning to develop a lot faster than in major developed countries, saying "unlike the simpler process of artificial insemination, whereby sperm is placed in the uterus and conception precedes otherwise normally, IVF actually involves combining eggs and sperm outside the body in what's known as a laboratory, and that is where the new methods of IVF are being developed, but this can only happen when a government allows you to carry out advanced IVF research, but fortunately as Doctors we are able to carry out IVF research wherever we choose to".
Another advanced IVF technique is called hysteroscopy, which allows IVF specialists to look right into the womb, not only allowing Doctors to see how healthy the womb is, but also to get an understanding of the nature of the womb, so hysteroscopy then finds the best place to implant the embryo. One such government that is allowing advanced IVF treatment research is Spain, who without a doubt would like a big part of this multi-billion dollar industry.
