One of the most common clinical challenges faced in optometry is dry eye. Thanks to new technology we can now treat dry eye in ways never before available. The latest in technology is called The TearLab. It measures a small sample of the patient’s tears to see how “dry” they really are. Our clinic is one of the first in Texas to offer this advanced diagnostic evaluation.
Treatment is prescribed based on the measurements from the TearLab. Treatments range from Omega 3 supplements, tear replacement drops, punctual plugs, anti- inflammatory drops, oral antibiotics and prescription strength artificial tears.
