Community Care College Introduces Evening Fitness and Health Program

By popular demand, Community Care College is introducing an Evening Fitness and Health program to the on-ground campus. The Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates that jobs in health and fitness are expected to increase much faster than average compared to all other occupations; in fact, the field is projected to increase over 29% by 2018.

The national demand for health and fitness professionals is reflected in the number of students who have requested that the program be offered during evening hours at Community Care College. In order to meet the demand of students interested in the program, classes will now be offered Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 1:00pm or from 5:30pm to 10:30pm.

The class will be taught by Fitness and Health Instructor Chris Norman, who brings ACSM certification and ten years of martial arts and group fitness leadership experience to bear on the industry. The curriculum will cover all the various aspects of the health and fitness industry covered by the daytime program: sports massage and training, worksite health promotion, fitness program design, CPR, exercise psychology and counseling, business management, gym marketing and sales, and career and life development.

Interest in the program is expected to grow, despite the rough economic climate. National data indicates that the average salary of a Fitness and Health Trainer is $30,610. This number does not include self-employed trainers, whose earnings may be “much higher” according to the BLS. Fitness and Health trainers often receive other benefits, such as free gym membership or discounted product.

The evening Fitness and Health program at Community Care College is now enrolling students. To receive more information about the Fitness and Health program, contact admissions@communitycarecollege.edu.
