Vastu School of Yoga, a well-known and internationally recognized Yoga Teacher Training School will come to Koh Phangan, South Thailand in August 2014. This is good news for students who travel to South East Asia as this will be the first time that Vastu School of Yoga has offered their 200 Hour Yoga Immersion and Registered Yoga Teacher
Training course in Thailand.
The Vastu School of Yoga Training will take place on the tropical island paradise of Koh Phangan in South Thailand. The island itself is famous for its many secluded white sand beaches and relaxed atmosphere. The island, Koh Phangan is located in the Gulf of Thailand. Koh Phangan is one of three islands in the gulf frequented by tourists.
Koh Phangan is also known as a sort of “Yogis paradise”. The island plays host each year to countless yoga events, workshops and is home to many yoga schools. Thousands of yogis visit Koh Phangan each year.
According to Vastu School of Yoga Student Jacquelyn Richard, this is not any teacher training program. “What sets Vastu apart from the other Yoga Trainings out there is authenticity. Lal and Lorrie are wonderful and experienced teachers, they teach from their hearts. This training has not only prepared me to be a confident yoga teacher, but so much more than I could have asked for.”
Monte Vista Retreat Center is an Ayurvedic Detoxification and Wellness Center that will be hosting Vastu Yoga Teacher Training. The training itself will take place throughout 21 days, from August 4 – 25, 2014.
Monte Vista Retreat Center is home to Yoga Veda, an international school of Ayurveda and is well known on the island of Koh Phangan for its unique ayurvedic detoxification programs (panchakarma) and yoga retreats. Monte Vista boasts one of the islands most spectacular sunset viewpoints.
Students can opt to register for the all-inclusive training program with ocean view bungalow style accommodation and all vegetarian meals, or for those on a budget, a basic training price is also available.
This comprehensive training in yoga asana (postures), yogic philosophy, meditation, pranayama (breath awareness) is modeled after the teachings of Swami Sivananda and Swami Vishnu Devananda of the Devine Life Society, Rishikesh, India. They emphasize the arts of right living through proper relaxation, proper physical exercise, proper diet, positive thinking and meditation.
After completion of this course, graduates will be awarded the title of “Yoga Sironami” (minister of yoga) and be qualified to register with the International Yoga Alliance at the 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher level.
The instructors of the course are Lorrie Conglose and Lal Maharajh, founders of the Vastu School of Yoga based in Isla Mujeres, Mexico. Together they teach international Yoga Retreats, classes and Teacher Training Courses.
Vastu Instructor Lal Maharajh grew up in Ramrick Sadhu Sweala (temple), yoga was a part of his life from an early age. He received initiation and mantras from his guru Pujya Sat Gurudey Pundit Lutchmee Persad who was a follower of Swami Sivananda’s teachings of karma service. In 1964 Lal received Janeau (sacred thread). Lal received the title of Yoga Siromani from Bharata, a senior disciple of Swami Vishnu Devananda.
Lorrie Conglose also studied with and received the title of Yoga Siromani from Bharata, a senior disciple of Swami Vishnu Devananda. She studied yoga at the Sivananda Ashrams in India, the Bahamas and New York. After a severe back injury which left her with extensive nerve and muscle damage, Lorrie used her yoga practice to heal both physically and emotionally. Lorrie is a licensed massage therapist, certified in Reiki, Thai Yoga and experienced in Aromatherapy.
Together the pair have educated hundreds of individuals including doctors, law enforcement officers, teachers, military personnel, hospice patients, business professionals, pundits, lawyers, etc.
Open enrollment has begun for this 200 hour, Yoga Intensive Course. To ensure quality teachings, the course is limited to a maximum of 16 students.
