Project Aware has already been a part of the PADI education system and it has taken form of a movement of scuba divers who are trying to do their bit for the planet. The focus of this project lies on two major ocean issues; Sharks in peril and marine debris. These are two really serious issues where scuba divers can make a direct difference, and that’s just what the project emphasises on.
Now PADI IDC Gili Islands has taken a step further at Tarawangan Dive by stressing on the presentation for the benefit of those interested. Once the IDC is completed and students have finished their PADI instructor examination, they can make the most of the informative and inspiring presentation in front of them.
The presentation has been smartly designed to draw instructors, who are set off with a quiz that talks about what Project Aware actually does at the moment. It also highlights the achievements of the project and talks about the road ahead to make people aware of things that need to be done in the future.
PADI professionals can be the voice of this all important project for ocean conservation and they are made to realize that through the presentation. It also talks to them about PADI-Project Aware alliance and the need for it. They are then informed about fundraising events and ideas that can go a long way in supporting the project.
Finally it’s about 10 tips to divers to protect the ocean planet so that everyone takes on their share of responsibility towards conserving the ocean.
