Global rum brand Bacardi have split with their advertising agency and have now placed the account up for review.
A number of advertising and marketing agencies have been contacted by Bacardi and invited to pitch for the brand’s global advertising account.
The pitch is likely to be overseen by Bacardi UK marketing director John Burke. The company spends around £5 million on advertising within the UK, although the incumbent on the UK advertising account will not be affected by the review.
The review is set to cover only the creative side of the business with a spokeswoman for the company stating areas such as online digital marketing, media buying and food & drink PR will remain unaffected.
She said: “The iconic brand is in the process of selecting a new creative agency. The agency decision relates to global advertising creative only, and does not include media buying, internet or below-the-line activities."
