The RS 7 Sportback will be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show later this week.
Audi claims that the RS 7 Sportback will be the pinnacle of “aesthetic design, innovative technology, and impressive sportiness.” South Hills Audi could not agree more. The RS 7 Sportback is powered by a ferocious twin-turbo V8 engine with 4.0 TSFI capability through cylinder on demand technology. What this means is that when the car is not being pushed to extreme speed and power limits, half the cylinders will be deactivated and the car will run more efficiently on just four cylinders. When more power is needed, the other cylinders will be fired back up. The entire process is so seamless that the driver will never be aware.
Because of this technology, the RS 7 Sportback has earned a fuel-efficiency rating of 9.8 liters/100 km (which is 24 mpg). Despite this high fuel rating, the twin-turbo V8 engine still delivers optimum power, generating 560 hp and 553.17 lb-ft of torque. Most impressive, however, is its all-out sprint from 0 to 100 km/hr (0 to 62.14 mpg), which is done in only 3.9 seconds.
Sporty response is created through the standard eight-speed tiptronic transmission. Also standard is quattro permanent all-wheel drive, giving the RS 7 Sportback the competitive edge in traction and driving safety. Equipped with state-of-the-art braking, wheels, and suspension, the RS 7 Sportback is a masterful work of art.
The design is nothing but elegant. Everything from color choices to cabin layout exudes sophistication, giving the Audi a regal appearance and feel. Seating, trim, technology—everything is up-to-date and ahead of the competition.
The RS 7 Sportback will be arriving at South Hills Audi some time later this year.
