The 2014 Cruze Diesel will arrive at dealerships in late 2013 giving customers an added selection of fuel efficient cars. GM North America President Mark Ruess said that is definitely time for a Cruze Diesel in today’s market. Customers not interested in hybrids or electric cars can save on fuel with the new diesel option.
“There’s a place for diesels here. There’s a place for diesels in the future, as well. At the end of the day, it’s still the most efficient thermodynamics of combustion we have,” said Ruess in late December.
Ruess says he hopes the introduction of the Cruze Diesel will help the American market embrace the effects of clean diesels have on fuel economy numbers. The official fuel economy of the Cruze Diesel is yet to be released but automotive experts are expecting it to be better than the Cruze’s ECO efficiency of 40 MPG on the highway.
The 2014 Cruze Diesel is one of thirteen new or revised models Chevy will introduce in 2013. The Cruze Diesel will come out alongside of the redesigned 2014 Impala, 2014 Silverado, and the recently revealed Corvette Stingray.
