New Models, New Headquarters and New Contracts: Infiniti Had Big 2012

From the unveiling of new cars and the expansion of Infiniti Global to the race track, Infiniti made its mark on 2012.

Infiniti can look back over 2012 and safely say they had a great year.  They hit the ground running by unveiling new models, new global headquarters and a new head of Infiniti Global.

Last year, Infiniti started out by introducing several new models.  The Infiniti JX model, a 7-passenger luxury crossover, took off, becoming the second best selling vehicle in the Infiniti line with sales of 21,674.  Ben Poore, Vice President of Infiniti Americas, is proud of the new JX line, “The JX brought new buyers into our showroom, and we expect that will continue throughout 2013, as we add another important new vehicle to the Infiniti line.”  Other models introduced during 2012 include the 2013 IPL G Convertible, second in the Infiniti Performance Line, the Infiniti LC Concept and the Emerg-e Concept.

Another big reveal in 2012 was the expansion of Infiniti Global.  First, was the opening of their new Global Headquarters in Hong Kong.  Nissan CEO, Carlos Ghosen, believes this move to be beneficial, “Hong Kong is an ideal base for continued growth in the world’s largest auto market.”  The second big reveal was the new head of Infiniti Global, Johan de Nysschen.  He plans to expand the Infiniti product line into the premium market.

Infiniti also had an exciting year on the race track.  It began with an extension of their partnership with Red Bull Racing, the three-time FIA Formula One Constructors’ World Champion.  This extension involves the team name changing to Infiniti Red Bull Racing and Infiniti becoming the technical partner starting in the 2013 season.  Their driver, Sebastian Vettel, was awarded his third consecutive championship crown becoming the third driver in Formula One history to win three or more championships in a row.

As the year came to a close, Infiniti announced it was ranked second overall among luxury brands in the J.D. Power and Associates 2012 U.S. Sales Satisfaction Index Study.  With improvements like these, it’s no wonder Infiniti had increased sales in the double digits for eight straight months.  They closed out their year with increased sales in December of 14.9 percent and a yearly sales increase of 21.8 percent.

Infiniti has already begun their plan to top their 2012 year by introducing their new Q models, starting with the Q50, a premium sports sedan, in January of 2013.  Contact Infiniti of Cincinnati at (866) 668-4106 or check out their website, www.infinitiofcincinnati.com, for more information.
