Not only will MINI present the 2013 Burton U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships, but the city of Seven Springs Pennsylvania will host the Inaugural Snowboarding Qualifiers Event. Local dealership, MINI of Pittsburgh, anxiously awaits the action.
The Inaugural Snowboarding Qualifiers Event held in Seven Springs Pennsylvania will take place from February 1, 2013 through February 3, 2013 at its Mountain Resort.
The resort was named 2012 OnTheSnow Visitors’ Choice for Best Park and Pipe in the Mid-Atlantic.
Riders will compete in one of two disciplines—Slopestyle and Halfpipe.
Of the competitors, only the top ten men and the top five women from each discipline will earn a spot in the 2013 Burton U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships.
Top competitors from the Inaugural Snowboarding Qualifiers Event will receive $20,000.
In addition, the top ten men and the top five women from each discipline on the World Snowboarding Points List will also proceed to the 2013 Burton U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships.
Wild card invitations will be extended to those top twenty men and top ten women from each discipline.
The Burton European Open Juniors Events will be held in Laax Switzerland on Saturday February 9, 2013 to determine the top two boys and the top girl under the age of fourteen that will compete in the 2013 Burton U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships.
The 31st Annual Burton U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships will be held in Vail Colorado, where more than 100 of the best snowboarders in the world will compete for over $340,000 in cash prizes.
Slopesytle Semifinals will take place on Wednesday February 27, 2013 with Halfpipe Semifinals on the following day, Thursday February 28, 2013.
Slopestyle Finals will unfold on Friday March 1, 2013 followed by Halfpipe Finals on Saturday March 2, 2013.
2012 Burton U.S. Open Snowboarding Champions are Shaun White and Elena Hight for the Halfpipe and Sebastion Toutant and Jamie Anderson for the Slopestyle.
