Cars.com has named the all-new 2013 Scion FR-S Best of 2013.
Each year at the North American International Auto Show, which is currently being hosted in Detroit, Cars.com hosts a Best Of awards show. Classic Toyota excitedly reported that this year, the 2013 Scion FR-S went home with the grand prize.
The Best Of award has come to be much respected in the auto industry as Cars.com is one of the most reliable names in the automotive world. Customers across the country trust the website every day when making purchasing decisions about new and pre-owned vehicles.
Patrick Olsen, editor-in-chief, Cars.com, said, “This year, our team of experts drove and evaluated dozens of 2013 models, and the competition was steep.” Thus, arriving at the decision was difficult. The Scion FR-S was up against stiff competition in both the best sports car segment and the all-around car segment. This means that not only did the Scion FR-S have to defeat immediate competitors in its own segment to win Best of Sports Cars 2013, but then it also had to defeat industry bests that excelled in categories such as best midsize sedan, luxury sedan, SUV, hybrid, and pickup to merit the overall Best of 2013 award.
In the end, Olsen said that it was the FR-S’s “impressive driving ability at a remarkably affordable price” that gave the sports car an edge over the rest of the competition.
Scion Vice President, Doug Murtha, spoke of the victory: “Winning the Best of 2013 award is an honor and evidence of the sustained energy around the FR-S. As many drivers have discovered, the FR-S is truly bringing the sport back to the car.”
