AOL Autos recently announced that Chrysler’s Uconnect Access system won its inaugural Technology of the Year award. AOL Autos credited the Uconnect Access system’s user-friendly interface and controls as one of the reasons for it being named Technology of the Year. “Technology surrounds us in all aspects of life, and its integration in vehicles should be no exception,” said AOL Autos Editor-in-Chief David Kiley. “Drivers shouldn’t have to ask a 12-year old how to get their navigation systems programmed.”
The award was decided by a combination of votes from the editors of AOL Autos, Autoblog and Engadget, with each receiving one vote. Another vote was reserved for the popular vote, which was derived from nearly 20,000 people who visited AOL Autos, learned about the five finalists for Technology of the Year and casted their vote. It was the popular vote that secured a victory for Chrysler’s Uconnect Access system.
