The 2014 BMW M6 Gran Coupe is revealed at the Detroit Auto Show and BMW of Murrieta has more information on the long-awaited 4-door coupe.
In mid-2012 BMW of Murrieta announced that BMW would release the M6 Gran Coupe in the United States starting in 2013. Since then, pictures and renderings of the new Gran Coupe have been released. At the Detroit Auto Show, BMW finally gave the public a glimpse of the all-new 2013 M6 Gran Coupe that will hit U.S. landfall later this year.
The M6 Gran Coupe is a performance-based version of the acclaimed BMW 6 series. The 4-door coupe is powered by a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that achieves 560 horsepower and 500 lb.-ft. of torque. It powers up to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds, the same 0-60 statistic as the 2-door M6 Coupe.
The “M” refers to BMW’s high-performance series of their luxury cars. The M5 and the M6 Coupe have been available in the United States for some time and customers have long-awaited the arrival of a Gran Coupe with the M distinction.
The reveal of the 2014 M6 Gran Coupe on United States soil has also been welcomed by automotive experts. The 2014 M6 Gran Coupe has been named a “must have” by Forbes in a recent article, calling the M6 Gran Coupe a best buy in 2013. Forbes notes the car’s high power, smooth handling, and excellent performance as reasons for the “must have distinction.”
