JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Arlington Toyota is working with Take Stock in Children to improve the lives of low-income youth located in the area. The dealership is holding a special event on Saturday, July 21 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. to bring awareness to the cause.
Take Stock in Children is a non-profit organization in Florida that provides educational opportunities for deserving low-income youth. “Take Stock in Children is playing a vital role in improving the lives of low income youth in Jacksonville by giving them the tools to graduate from high school and even further their education in undergraduate and even graduate level programs,” explained Rick Doran, General Manager of Arlington Toyota. “With high level of dropout rates in our community, Arlington Toyota is committed to helping Take Stock in Children continue their work in Jacksonville and expand their reach to even more youth in our community.”
According to Doran, Arlington Toyota started a partnership with Take Stock in Children in October of 2010. Since then, the dealership has donated money directly to the youth and helped to develop the organization’s mentoring program by including them in advertising.
“Arlington Toyota always includes Take Stock In Children in every event we host at the dealership. They come out with information on how to become a mentor and we promote that on the radio stations while they are here. It is incredible exposure for the organization and continues to brand their name in the market,” said Doran.
As a part of the event this weekend, Arlington Toyota is holding a video contest. Titled “You Say It, We Pay It,” the contest asks local residents to take a video of themselves saying the company’s slogan, “You see so many ‘cause they paid so little!” and then post the video on the dealership’s Facebook page. The Grand Prize winner will receive $1,000 cash and a chance to be in the next television advertisement. Nine other people will receive a $250 Visa gift card.
