2014 Jeep Compass Sets the Standards High for Compact SUV Market

The 2014 Jeep Compass, now more powerful and efficient than ever before, will be appearing in the Ilderton Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram showroom later this year.

HIGH POINT, North Carolina - Jeep introduced its 2014 Jeep Compass at the North American International Auto Show.  This model is setting the standard high for competing compact SUVs.  It offers fuel efficiency, innovative technology, over 30 safety features and an all-new design.  The Compass will be showing up on the showroom floor of Ilderton Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram (Ilderton.com) this summer.

“Jeep Compass provides consumers with a combination of fuel economy, safety, value – and, of course, Jeep capability – in the important compact-SUV segment,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO — Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “For 2014, Jeep Compass buyers will enjoy their driving experience even more, courtesy of an all-new six-speed transmission and a refined interior and exterior design.”

The Compass gets two options for drivetrains.  The first is a four cylinder 2.0L with 158 horsepower while the second is 2.4L and produces 172 horsepower.  Both of these drivetrains, combined with the brand new 6F24 six-speed automatic transmission, increase fuel efficiency to almost 30 mpg on the highway.  The new transmission is also lighter and easier to take care off; it does not have a transmission dipstick and will not require regular filter or fluid changes because of the transmission’s fill-for-life design.

An impressive list of over 30 safety features will be appealing to most consumers.  Some of the standard features are front-seat and side-curtain, all row airbags; electronic roll mitigation; hill-start assist and an available ParkViewer rear backup camera.

The 2014 Compass would not be complete without state-of-the-art technology.  The Uconnect media center is prominently displayed on the front dash with an iPod interface, SiriusXM Radio and an optional navigation system.  Other conveniences included for the driver are illuminated cup holders, fold-flat back seats and lift gate speakers.

The 2014 Jeep Compass is a tough 4x4 with best in class off-road capabilities and adds features that will enhance the driving experience.  The Compass will be available to High Point residents at Ilderton Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram this summer.
