The Dodge family welcomes its newest addition, the 2013 Dodge Dart in its first appearance since 1976. The Dart is the long-awaited first model released after the Chrysler-Fiat merge and has a vast array of customizable options, is equipped with high-tech engineering, and is designed to maximize aerodynamics.
The 2013 Dodge Dart is available in five trim levels with six powertrains, 14 interior combinations, 12 exterior colors, and six wheel choices. This gives the Dart thousands of different combinations, making it unlikely to see two that are exactly the same. The 2013 Dodge Dart can be customized even further with 150 Mopar accessories, like grilles, shifters, and tailpipes.
The base model will come standard with a 2.0-liter, 4-cyclinder, 160 horsepower Tigershark engine. Also standard, will be a 6-speed manual transmission. With this engine, the Dart will be able to achieve up to 36 miles per gallon on the highway. Available on all trims, except the R/T, is a 1.4-liter, 16-valve Intercooled MultiAir Turbo engine, which has better acceleration and better gas mileage, up to 39 miles per gallon on the highway.
To help the 2013 Dodge Dart achieve the best fuel efficiency possible, the Dart was designed to be as aerodynamic as possible. To do this, the designers scaled down some standard elements, such as the headlights, that are usually oversized on most compact cars. This aerodynamic design gives the Dart a sleek, fast look. The back end was also optimized by giving the trunk a second seal to help block air and by raising the end to give it a spoiler effect.
