While her song may have been have caused many to ridicule her Rebecca Black is causing a storm on the internet reminiscent of teen sensation Justin Bieber.

The 13 year old singer has seen her song “Friday” reach the number 69 position in the iTunes digital download chart while Twitter and YouTube references to her and the cringe worthy song have grown enormously making her the latest internet singing sensation.

Rebecca Black celebrated the success of her song on the chart by taking to twitter. She said: “Yay! Friday is on iTunes top 100! Sweet dreams” xoxo.”

She added: “So honored. So many amazing and talented people actually KNOW of my song. It's been an incredible last few days. Thank you all! :)”

The Rebecca Black phenomenon has shown how even negative commentary can raise your profile with reviews such as that found in Rolling Stone saying: “Subpar production values, grating hooks and extraordinarily stupid lyrics.”

They say that there is no such thing as bad publicity and Rebecca Black is the living proof of this with suggestions now abound that the teen singer may even be considering taking to the road for her very own tour, although this has been denied by Rebecca via Twitter being as it would be difficult to put together a tour when she only has one song to be able to sing.
