The Little Tikes company who is based out of Hudson, Ohio first introduced the Little Tikes Cozy Coupe to the American public in 1979. The Cozy Coupe has been capturing the hearts and imaginations little ones ever since. Generation after generation has grown up playing with and peddling around in this loveable vehicle. The Cozy Coupe has been selling like hot cakes since it was first put on the market by 91’ it was reportedly selling 500,000 units each year which earned it the title of the top selling model in the United States as it out sold both the Honda Accord and the Ford Taurus.

Most everyone at some point or another in his or her lives has either played in or pushed someone else in a Cozy Coupe; it’s become somewhat of an American icon in its own right. But American icon or not all things are subject to change in order to keep up with the times.

In 98’ little tikes took the initiative to update their icon to help keep it a little more current and to prevent it from becoming outdated and out of style. They released the Little Tikes Cozy Coupe ll with its redesigned form that retained the red and yellow bubble-shaped exterior, while adding thicker pillars on the front roof, among other enhancements, including a remote control that makes sounds of doors unlocking, the horn beeping, the engine starting and a car alarm.

Thanks to its longevity and ability to adapt with the times this great American icon celebrated its 30-year anniversary in 2009 and was added to the collection of vehicles in the Crawford auto museum.
